Google has filed an appeal last Monday at the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) challenging the judgement of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) which found the search giant to be guilty of “search bias”.

The Indian competition watchdog fined Google a total of 1.36 billion rupees for abusing its dominance in online web search and online search advertising markets.

The ruling is the latest setback for Google after being handed a $3 billion fine by the European Commission last year in a case which similarly found the search giant to be unfairly favoring its own shopping service over its competitors.
