Earlier this week, Google announced that it will be rolling out changes to its Search Tool in order to provide “diversified” perspectives.

Google’s search results currently only show one “snippet”, which is the boxed text that is shown at the top of the results page. Google says that it may start to show more than one of these responses from a third party site.

Experts say that the move can introduce its own set of problems and that Google only wants to offer multiple viewpoints to dodge accusations of spreading misinformation. However, Snippets chief Matthew Gray responded that they only want to provide more visibility to legitimate diverse perspectives.
