Last Thursday, the Kremlin criticized Facebook for its removal of accounts associated with Russian media organizations, calling it a hostile censorship move.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that they were following the events closely and agreed with a questioner from one of the affected media outlets that it was a hostile step.

Facebook earlier this week said that has taken down hundreds of accounts and pages linked to the Internet Research Agency, an Russian organization suspected of running a “troll factory” which spreads fake news on social media.
