During the turbulent period which rocked global stock markets last week, technology analysts reported that smartphone apps were one of reasons behind glitches on financial websites. Kendra Thompson, an Accenture managing director, said that most financial systems were not built to handle requests from the rapidly increasing number of financial apps on mobile devices which users often use to check balances or watch market indexes. Accenture Leaves Private Data Completely Exposed on S3 Servers

Tech giant Accenture recently confirmed that they inadvertently left four of their cloud servers unsecured, exposing a massive trove of highly sensitive data that included passwords and decryption keys. Chris Vickery of cybersecurity UpGuard discovered the lapse around mid-September, which he relayed to the company privately. Businesses Are Losing $11.7M a Year on Cyber Crime According to Report

A recent study showed that over the last 5 years, cybercrime has increased 62% and organizations are losing around $11.7 million in a year A press release from Accenture and Ponemon Institute announced a study they have conducted called “The Cost of Cyber Crime Study”. The research was based on survey results of around 2,182 IT and security professionals in 254 international organizations.
