In a speech at the recently held World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, Prime Minister Theresa May said that she wants the UK to lead global efforts in the development of safe and ethical artificial intelligence.

The PM revealed that AI-related startups are created almost every week for the last three years in the UK, and added that the country is known to be the first in the world in its preparedness to introduce AI in the government.

However, other countries seem to be making greater advances into AI. Google last week chose France as the site for their new AI research centre, while US and China is said the be in a two-way race for AI dominance according to a report by the Eurasia group consultancy.
