Media sources have said that Mark Zuckerberg met with US lawmakers last Monday, a day before he is scheduled to give his testimony on the misuse of Facebook user data by political consultancy firm Cambridge Analytica.

According to aides, Zuckerberg will be talking at Capitol Hill with politicians from the U.S. Senate Judiciary and Commerce Committee, and U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee, both of which he will be testifying before this week.

The Facebook CEO had recently taken responsibility for the mishap and is expected to acknowledge the company’s failure to understand the extent of the problem caused by the improper sharing of its data.
