22 States Appeal to Reinstate Net Neutrality Rules
0 comments
22 state attorneys general and the District of Columbia submitted an appeal last Monday to reinstate the Obama administration’s net neutrality rules which the FCC had overturned in December.
The states asked a US Appeals court to reject the Trump administration’s efforts to preempt states from imposing their own rules to guarantee an open internet, saying that the sweeping new powers granted to internet providers will only harm consumers.
Several internet companies also took to the courts to reject the FCC ruling this week, including Mozilla Corp, Vimeo Inc, Etsy Inc, as well as a number of media and technology advocacy groups.
