Advertising Dollars Moving from Google to Amazon, Ad Industry Sources Say

Executives from various ad agencies are reportedly seeing advertising money flowing out of Google into Amazon, with some companies moving up to 50 to 60 percent of their budget to the e-commerce giant.

While Google still holds the top position in digital advertising in the US, it is said that Amazon’s success could pose a rare threat, with its ad budgets increasing triple digit percentages year-over-year.

One of the execs who gave his opinion on the matter remarked that Google’s search ads appear “quaint”. He added that searches on Amazon directly correlate to sales, while another said that clients appreciate Amazon as it provides as seamless shopping experience.
