AI powered fact-checking tool “Tunai” wins inaugural DICT OpenGov Hackathon

On May 22, 2025, the Department of Information and Communication Technology (DICT) held the inaugural OpenGov Hackathon, themed “Good Vibes, Great Governance: Building Trust through Data, AI, and Citizen Voices, where the artificial intelligence (AI) powered fact-checking tool “Tunai” emerged as champion.
Tunai was developed by Bryl Lim and his team from PocketDev. The application can be embedded by the user in the social media Facebook to fact check articles and combat fake news by verifying facts and linking users to sources.
