Anti-abortion Activists Slam Google for Pulling Referendum Ads
0 comments
Anti-abortionists in Ireland fired criticisms at Google after the search giant had announced that it will be pulling advertisements related to Ireland’s May 25 abortion referendum last Wednesday.
Google had reportedly made the decision after Facebook similarly said that it will no longer accept ads from outside the country looking to influence the referendum.
A spokesperson further clarified that the move follows their update around election integrity efforts globally, and all ads related to the Irish referendum on the Eighth Amendment will be paused for the meantime.
