Last Tuesday, the latest annual Harris Poll Reputation Quotient survey showed a decline in Apple and Google’s brand, with the former sliding from 5th to 29th and the latter from 8th to 28th.

Harris Poll CEO John Gerzema said that the drop could be attributed to the failure of both companies to release any attention-grabbing products. Gerzema added that projects that the companies had been working on, such as self-driving cars and artificial intelligence, are “not quite there yet”.

Amazon remained at the top spot which may be due to its acquisition of Whole Foods, while Tesla went up from 9th to 3rd, capitalizing on recent buzz generated by its SpaceX project.
