Army Wives Threatened by Russians Posing as Jihadists

Five military wives earlier this week reported receiving death threats and troubling messages via Facebook from culprits claiming to be affiliated with Islamic State militants. According to one of the wives, the hacker threatened to “slaughter” her family and said that they were “much closer than you think”.

However, the Associated Press said that the hackers were actually part of a Russian group called “Fancy Bear” or APT28 that interfered with the last US presidential elections.

It was also reported that a few weeks after the incident, the signal of French broadcaster TV5 Monde was taken down and its website and Facebook page defaced with the keffiyeh-clad logo of CyberCaliphate.
