AT&T to Launch Ad Tracking Network to Rival Facebook’s

AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson revealed last week plans to launch a massive network similar to Facebook’s that will serve ads to customers that it already tracks.

Stephenson says he took issue with the government’s interference in their acquisition of Time Warner since it will prevent his company from tapping into Turner’s extensive inventory of advertising.

While the plan is expected to have a significant negative impact on consumer privacy, major carriers such as Verizon have already carried out a similar strategy in 2017 when it bought AOL and Yahoo to form Oath.
