China Fingered for Australian National University Breach

The Australian National University recently revealed that its computer systems had been accessed by a third party which was most likely to be hackers backed by the Chinese government.

The breach was said to be particularly concerning since the ANU is home to the National Security College which trains defence and intelligence officials out of Canberra.

It was additionally reported that the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) found that the hacker’s trail led to China where the attackers took over ANU’s domain controller, granting them system administrator power across the network.
