Consumer Groups Urge EU Regulators to Take Action Against Google Tracking
0 comments
Speaking on behalf of consumer agencies in Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Greece, Norway, Slovenia and Sweden, consumer lobby European Consumer Organisation (BEUC) complained to regulators that Google employs various ways to encourage users to enable the ‘location history’ and ‘web and app activity’ settings integrated into all Google user accounts.
The BEUC said that Google’s practices are not GDPR-compliant and the firm lacks legal ground for processing the said information. It added that the consent the users provide in under such circumstances is not freely given.
