Dell Confirms Cyber Attack, Resets Customer Password
Dell confirmed this week that it had been hit by a cyber attack and had to reset all passwords for accounts on their online electronics store last November 14.
Dell said that the hackers attempted to breach their system to steal customer data, but they were able to thwart the attack. However, they are not ruling out the possibility that the attackers were able to break in and thus reset the passwords.
According to a source, Dell saw that it was not required by law to disclose the incident, but decided to come forward “with customer trust in mind,”.
