DICT Chief Honasan Vows Focus on Cybersecurity

New DICT Chief Gregorio Honasan promised to focus on the country’s cybersecurity matters once he assumes his post next year.

 

Acting DICT chief Eliseo Rio Jr. expressed his confidence in the former military man and said that Honasan can definitely continue the third telco and allay worries on potential cybersecurity threats involving the third telco player backed by China Telecommunications.

 

Rio added that the former senator also vowed to support the department’s current initiatives, including free public WiFi access, the national broadband plan and common tower policy.
