Duterte Denies Working with Cambridge Analytica in 2016 Campaign
Speaking in Davao City last Friday, President Rodrigo Duterte said that his campaign team did not work with Cambridge Analytica and added that he would have lost if he did team up with them.
Duterte won in a landslide victory with 6.6 million more votes than his closest rival, Mar Roxas. However, a photo from 2015 recently surfaced, showing his campaign team sharing a meal with Cambridge Analytica Chief Executive Officer Alexander Nix.
The Philippines is one of the top countries hit by the Facebook breach involving Cambridge Analytica, and it is estimated that 1.2 million Filipino users had their data scraped.
