Last Wednesday, Facebook’s European regulator revealed that WhatsApp still has not submitted proposals to the bloc’s regulators regarding the issue of data sharing with its parent company.

The Irish Data protection authority, which holds jurisdiction over Facebook, said that it will still prohibit WhatsApp to share data with Facebook until it finds lawful basis for the messaging service to do so.

Ireland’s Data Protection Commissioner Helen Dixon said that it is up to WhatsApp to present a credible process, however, the Facebook-owned app has not yet made any moves towards the resolution of the issue which it had been criticized for by EU privacy regulators.
