Facebook Makes Ex-FCC Chair as US Public Policy Chief
It was reported this week that Facebook had made a few changes to its senior leadership, with the company replacing its current Head of US policy with former FCC chair Kevin Martin. The move is said to have been prompted by the increased political and regulatory scrutiny of the company brought by the Cambridge Analytica scandal.
Erin Egan, who used to occupy the position, will stay as Facebook’s chief privacy officer.
Martin, who has been with Facebook since 2015, will be reporting to VP of global public policy Joel Kaplan. The two had already worked together in the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign.
