Facebook PR Firm Wrote Negative Articles on Rivals, NYT Says
The New York Times recently reported that a PR firm that Facebook had hired wrote dozens of articles critical of the social media company’s rivals.
The report says that Facebook expanded its relationship with Definers Public Affairs in October 2017 after receiving a year’s worth of criticism over the issue of Russian interference on its social network. The PR firm was found to have published articles blasting Google and Apple on the NTK Network which produces content catering to a predominantly conservative audience.
The PR firm also downplayed the effect of Russian activities on its platform and pressed reporters to look into George Soros’ financial connections with Facebook protesters at the Congressional hearings in July.
