Facebook Sued for Failing to Protect Mods from Trauma

A former Facebook employee had filed a lawsuit accusing the social media giant of failing to protect content moderators who review distressing material from mental trauma.

The plaintiffs lawyer, Korey Nelson, says that Facebook has ignored its duty to provide a safe workplace and instead, relied on transient contractors that have been irreparably traumatized by their tasks.

However, Facebook’s director of corporate communications Bertie Thompson says that they have provided all of their content reviewers access to various mental health resources, including trained professionals, counseling sessions, as well as providing them full health care benefits.
