
Facebook to Build $1 Billion Data Center in Singapore

Facebook will reportedly invest around $1 billion to build a data center in Singapore which the company says will improve efficiency and sustain growth in the region.
Singapore’s Jurong area was chosen for its communications power and other infrastructure despite relatively higher land prices. Partial operations in the 11-story, 170,000 sq. meter facility is expected to begin in 2022.
The Asia-Pacific region is currently the social network’s largest market with as much as 546 million average daily users in June that accounted for 37% of the global total. The region has contributed around 21% more users this year.
