Fake News Still Rampant Despite Facebook Efforts

Facebook announced last Wednesday that it will be partnering with two US nonprofits for its efforts in preventing global misinformation.
The company said that by partnering with the International Republican Institute and National Democratic Institute, it hopes to slow the spread of fake news in preparation for the upcoming elections in Brazil and the US.
Facebook revealed that it has been testing its platform’s resilience by running simulations of manipulation, such as voting suppression, and also did exercises on how it would handle a sudden burst of propaganda from pages administered from other countries.
