Genetic Testing Websites May Become New Social Networks

Recent statistics suggest that DNA testing sites such as 23andMe may soon become the new social networks. According to AncestryDNA, companies that provide self-performed genetic testing has already gained millions of customers within the past few years.   

By matching willing participants in their large databases with others who share their DNA, the companies are able to help reunite long-lost relatives in a more layered version of Facebook when it was first launched. It is said that the websites’ internal messaging systems are integral in connecting users with relatives they do not know of.
