Germany Seeks NSA Help on Data Breach

German security officials have reportedly sought the help of the US National Security Agency on the data breach involving the private data of German politicians, including Chancellor Angela Merkel.

Germany has asked the NSA to pressure Twitter to shut down the accounts spreading the stolen information, saying that the intelligence agency had jurisdiction since the information of some U.S. citizens were also exposed in the data dump.

Meanwhile, the German city-state of Hamburg is also said to be working with the Irish Data Protection Commissioner to stop the spread of the hacked personal information.
