Domain registrar GoDaddy had reportedly dropped far-right social network Gab after it had shared anti-Semitic posts related to a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue last Saturday.
The shooter, Robert Bowers, was said to have written and shared anti-Semitic content on his profile on Gab. GoDaddy said that it told Gab to find another domain registrar after it had found in its investigation that the social network had on numerous instances promoted violence on its platform.
In response, Gab said that it is being attacked and deprived of service by various platforms, hosting providers and payment processors. PayPal, Medium, Stripe, and Joyent had already banned Gab’s accounts over the weekend.
