Google Employees to Launch Social Media Campaign on Sexual Harassment Rules
In a Medium post last Monday, a group of Google employees announced that they will be embarking on a social media campaign to protest the issue of forced arbitration by tech companies after their November protest yielded no meaningful gains for worker equity.
The campaign organizers said that Google did not go far enough when it made arbitration of sexual harassment and assault claims optional, and that the company is still sending out offer letters with its old arbitration policy.
Recode reported that in researching the contracts of about 30 major tech companies and 10 contract employee suppliers, none had met their expectations of the campaigners for protecting the rights of employees to bring workplace issues to the courts.
