Google Still Not Complying with EU Competition Rules, Rivals Say

Google’s European competitors recently complained that the search giant is still unfairly using its advantage to unfairly influence its shopping search results.

In an open letter to the European Competition Commissioner, 14 shopping comparison services said that the measures put in place by Google after losing its competition case had only made things worse.

Google had promised to give space to other shopping comparison services, who can bid for advertising slots in its shopping box. However, rivals are complaining that the auction process is neither compliant nor effective, and that the search giant is also encouraging ad agencies to pose as shopping comparison sites.
