Google to Sue “RoboCall” Scammers

Google said this week that it will be taking legal action against several marketing firms in the US that used the company’s name for their search engine optimization scams.

These companies had reportedly been using robocalls to warn small businesses that their listing on Google Search and Maps will be taken down unless they return the call immediately. The scheme is used to coerce these businesses to sign up for the scammer’s SEO services.

In a blogspot post, a Google representative said that the company will be suing Kydia Inc. d/b/a BeyondMenu, Point Break Media, LLC (and affiliated entities), and Supreme Marketing Group, Inc d/b/a Small Business Solutions, and threatened to do the same to others wanting to carry out similar schemes.
