Hacker Hijacks Chromecasts, Smart TVs Urges Users to Subscribe to PewDiePie

Two hackers have reportedly hijacked thousands of smart tvs, Google Home devices and connected Chromecasts to play an ad urging users to subscribe to the channel of top YouTube personality PewDiePie.
One of the hackers, CastHack a.k.a TheHackerGiraffe, had also hacked into thousands of printers last month to advertise PewDiePie. However, the hacker also warned users on Twitter that their devices were exposed and vulnerable due to improper configuration and gave advice on how they can be secured.
TheHackerGiraffe said that users can protect their devices by disabling UPnP services on their router, or just by making sure that UPnP doesn’t port-forward ports 8008, 8009, and 8443.
