Huawei Denies Involvement in Chinese Hacking Efforts

A Huawei spokesperson stated this week that the company did not assist any organization, including the Chinese government, in the infiltration of a foreign network to gain information.

The company denied the claims made by a report in The Australian that Huawei employees had used Chinese intel to obtain access codes which were used to break into a foreign network.

Huawei insisted however, that it had an unblemished record of cybersecurity and called for a balanced public debate based on transparency and facts on its role in providing technology to Australia.
