Huawei Exec Arrest Likely to Impact Apple, US Tech

State-backed Chinese newspaper the Global Times is reportedly printing headlines that may indicate the impending negative impact of the arrest of Huawei’s top executive on Apple’s business and Sino-US trade relations.

Several recent headlines read: “Washington’s move to stifle Huawei will undermine itself,” and “Banning Chinese companies like Huawei will isolate US from digital economy of the future,”. It was noted that Apple, considered to be the poster child for US tech success, is a company that relied on China for 20% of its revenues this past year.

Meanwhile, analyst Dan Ives from investment firm Wedbush said that the Huawei CFO situation could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
