Communications giant Huawei is set to lead the global race for next-generation 5G networks as it forges relationships with big telecom operators across Europe and Asia.
Already occupying a dominant position in China, the company was observed to have been making in-roads in various US allied countries. Sources have revealed that Huawei has alread signed 25 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with telecom operators including Britain’s BT, Bell Canada (BCE), France’s Orange Germany’s Deutsche Telekom and global player Vodafone to to trial 5G equipment.
Even though Huawei is still behind Ericsson and Nokia, the Chinese company’s existing partnerships may give it an edge. Experts say that operators are likely to save more by using the same vendors.
