Huawei Fires Arrested Exec on Espionage Suspicions

Huawei had reportedly fired its sales director who was recently arrested in Poland on suspicions of espionage, saying the employee had brought the company into disrepute.

The Chinese telecommunications giant tried to distance itself from the employee, Wang Weijing, stressing in its official statement that Wang’s actions did not have any relation to the company and that it had always complied with the laws of the country it works with.

It was noted that Poland is an important market for the world’s second largest smartphone maker and Wang was responsible for selling equipment to government customers in the country.
