Singapore’s Integrated Health Information Systems (IHIS) announced this week that it had fired two employees and five senior management executives, and fined CEO Bruce Liang for their role in Singapore’s biggest security breach to date.
The agency said that the IT team responsible for the local healthcare sector which includes SingHealth, IHIS, had been negligent and did not comply with orders. In particular, the Citrix lead and a security incident response manager had an attitude that introduced risks to the system.
The data breach is estimated to have compromised the personal information of around 1.5 million SingHealth patients.
