India Website of Cambridge Analytica Taken Down
The local website of Cambridge Analytica, the London-based analytics firm currently embroiled in a privacy scandal with Facebook, has reportedly been taken down this week. The company is said to be working with major political parties in India.
Cambridge Analytica is currently being accused of harvesting the Facebook data of 50 million users and using it to influence the 2016 US elections. India’s IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said that he had received a number of reports on the involvement of the firm with Congress, and warned Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg that he may be summoned if it is found that Facebook had colluded to steal the data of Indian citizens.
