Indonesia Seeks More Answers from Facebook

Indonesia’s communications ministry said last Thursday that it is giving Facebook a week to provide them with more answers on the misuse of its citizens’ data and the measures the company is taking to prevent similar breaches from happening again.

The ministry had sent a letter to Facebook Ireland Ltd., seeking more details on the sharing of Facebook data to third parties including CubeYou and Aggregate IQ, as well as confirmation on technical measures to limit data access on the platform.

Although representatives from the social network had already apologized to the members of the Indonesian parliament, Facebook has yet to respond to the request and issue an official comment on the matter.
