Jack Ma: Sino-US Trade War Could Last 20 Years
0 comments
Alibaba chairman Jack Ma said at an investor conference last Tuesday that the trade friction between US and China could last as long as 20 years and will cause problems for everyone involved.
Ma said that the trade tensions could drive Chinese businesses to move production to other countries as a middle-term workaround. He added that the trade war will likely continue even after Trump, and what is needed are new trade rules and to upgrade the World Trade Organization.
Ma also said that the speech would be his last as chairman of Alibaba. He is set to be succeeded by CEO Daniel Zhang in a year.
