Majority of Indian Enterprises Upbeat on GDPR

According to a new survey by Deloitte India and the Data Security Council of India, around 71% of firms in the country agree that the EU’s GDPR will help spread a sense of privacy in business, as well as innovation in ideas.

Meanwhile, 80% said that they have already carried out awareness campaigns that detail their sensitive data handling process for their stakeholders.

Vishal Jain of Deloitte India says that the GDPR brought a renewed focus to data privacy that provides a competitive advantage for businesses. He added that the survey also showed that that new EU data rules can be a new business opportunity for Indian firms.
