Megaupload creator Kim Dotcom is reportedly suing the New Zealand government for damages in relation to his arrest in 2012.

The internet entrepreneur said that his business would have been worth $10 billion at present had it not been shut down in a raid by the New Zealand government.

Dotcom is seeking damages amounting to $6.8 billion and says that he might also take similar action against the government of Hong Kong.

Dotcom’s argues that his extradition warrants which were used in a raid on his mansion were based on Section 131 of the 1994 Copyright Act of New Zealand, which does not cover online copyright infringement.
