Microsoft, Google, Amazon to Use AI in Fight Against Famine

US tech firms Microsoft, Google, and Amazon will reportedly be using data analysis and artificial intelligence to fight world hunger in a new initiative announced last Sunday.

The World Bank and United Nations, which will be working with the tech giants in the Famine Action Mechanism, said that they will be using the predictive power of data to take action and trigger funding before a crisis occurs.

The companies will be providing expertise for the development of “Artemis”, a suite of AI-based analytical models that can be used to forecast the food security crisis in real-time.
