MySpace, Dropbox Hacker Gets Doxxed by Cybersecurity Firm

US cybersecurity company Recorded Future said this week that it had unmasked the hacker who in 2016 had sold databases of a number of companies including MySpace, Badoo, Dropbox, LinkedIn, and Twitter.

The firm said that the hacker, who goes by the handle “Tessa88” is a 29-year old Russian named Maksim Vladimirovich Donakov (Донаков, Максим Владимирович). Donakov, along with another hacker with the handle “Peace_of_Mind”, were responsible for the mega breaches that occurred in 2016.

Security researchers found Donakov’s identity and Tessa88, as well as his alternate nicknames interconnected on various social media profiles. However, it is said that the two hackers did not actually breach the said companies but only acted as middlemen who sold the data.
