New Human Rights Report Says Facebook Efforts in Myanmar Not Enough
0 comments
Facebook revealed this week that according to a human right report that it had commissioned from a non-profit organization, the company’s effort in preventing the use of its platform for violence had been inadequate.
Business for Social Responsibility (BSR), the San Francisco-based non-profit which did the report, recommended that the company enforce its content policies more strictly, and to work closely with the government and civil society groups.
The BSR also warned that Facebook should prepared for the onslaught of misinformation during Myanmar’s 2020 elections and the new problems that may come with the growth of WhatsApp’s use in the country.
