New Study Says Most American Think Social Media Filters Political Views

In a study released by the Pew Research Center last Thursday, it was shown that around seven out of ten Americans think that social media platforms such as Facebook censor political viewpoints.

Polling 4,594 American adults between May 29 and June 11, PRC found that roughly 72% believed that social media platforms were biased and intentionally suppressed political speech. The belief was said to be especially prevalent among Republicans, which is as high as 85%.

51% of the respondents said that tech companies should be regulated more than they are now, as opposed to 9% who said that they should be regulated less.
