UK Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt announced this week that they are planning to give robots the task of dementia care in the next 20 years.
The plan will be included in the major expansion of artificial intelligence across the NHS for routine operations and treatment.
Hunt also revealed that around £215 million in investment will go into innovative treatments, as well as programs that will use technology to encourage patients, especially those with diabetes and heart conditions, towards healthier lifestyles.
The Health Secretary wants academics and technology firms to come up with new ideas to improve surgery, treatment and long-term care.
