North Korea Likely Behind Cyberattack on 87 Companies

According to a VOA report this week, cybersecurity firm McAffee said that North Korea may have been responsible for cyberattacks on 7 firms around the world since last October.

McAfee chief scientist Raj Samani says that technical indicators, such as tools, tactics and procedures used in the attacks were similar to those used in previous attacks by groups believed to be backed by the North Korean regime..

Fortunately, the affected firms which were mostly in the energy or financial sector, did not suffer any financial losses from the attacks thanks to early detection.
