Norway to Possibly Exclude Huawei from 5G Network

Norway’s justice minister said this week that the government is still considering whether to exclude Chinese telecoms equipment giant Huawei from building part of the country’s 5G network.

 

Justice Minister Tor Mikkel Wara said that while they are sharing the same concerns over possible espionage on private and state actors on Norway and are considering steps taken by other countries against Huawei.

 

State-controlled carrier Telenor and its competitor Telia already use 4G Huawei equipment in Norway and are currently conducting tests using equipment from the Chinese company in their experimental 5G networks.
