According to Google’s latest “Transparency Report”, the Philippine government had made a total of 25 requests to remove 80 items from June 2012 to December 2017.
Out of the 80 items, 68 were related to defamation while seven were related to criticisms made against the government. Other requests were made in relation to bullying or harassment, drug abuse, impersonation, and obscenity.
Most of the removal requests were made by the Executive branch and only a handful were made by the judiciary through court orders.
