Sony Quietly Patches Three Critical Bravia TV Flaws
0 comments
Fortinet cybersecurity researchers reported this week that Sony had issued updates for three critical security bugs on its Bravia TV, one of which can give attackers “complete remote code execution with root privilege”.
Reported by FortiGuard Labs researchers, the flaws were found in Sony TV’s Photo Sharing Plus application which included a stack buffer overflow, a directory traversal bug, and a command injection flaw.
Owners are being warned that they have to upgrade to the latest firmware as soon as possible, since the bugs can remotely be exploited by attackers on the same network as the TVs.
